Cherio is a platform where users can anonymously discuss their mental health experiences with others just like them.
Whether you're experiencing panic attacks, feeling anxious, or having an extra hard day, we want you to have a safe place where you can share your story. A safe place where you'll realize that you're not alone.
This is why we created Cherio, the peer-led mental health support group in your pocket.
We're two childhood friends that found what helped our anxiety and depression was chatting to people like us. So when we got talking, we thought others might like to talk as well.
Between the two of us, we’ve experienced daily panic attacks, depression, general anxiety, lost family members to suicide, watched addiction take its toll, you name it. As we learned to cope with our mental illnesses, we became more and more open about sharing our stories.
Over time, we realized that almost everyone has either themselves or witnessed a family member experience some form of anxiety, depression or something similar. Every time we shared our story with others it was like an instant bond had been formed. After experiencing the benefits of these bonds with others, we decided to build Cherio to give others a platform where they could benefit from similar connections.
One in five adults in the United States is currently diagnosed with a mental illness.
Current Psychology literature shows that peer support interventions help to reduce symptoms of depression.
